    2. Robustness testing (HALT)

      Robustness testing (HALT)

Highly Accelerated Lifetime Testing (HALT) has proven its use over the last decades in the development of robust products that typically find their use in harsh environments. It found its origin in military, space and automotive industries. The intention of the test is to sTimulate failures due to wear and tear rather than simulating them. A well-performed HALT test will shorten the time-to-market, reduce warranty costs and most important, make the product more robust. The HALT process is typically applied on pre-production samples to find failures in a short time by applying incrementally increasing extreme stresses. These stresses are most commonly thermal and vibrational shocks which are sequentially applied according predefined test courses. FMEC has over 19 years of experience in HALT testing.
