The journey of O-Boy began with intensive research and development, fueled by a determination to overcome technical limitations. Balancing technical functionality with aesthetics was a central challenge. The development team tackled miniaturization, downsizing technology to create a compact device that accommodates various wrist sizes. To counter the perceived size, the design team drew inspiration from natural shapes like pebbles and ogive arches, using specific curvaceous splines to create a reflective surface that makes the watch appear smaller. However, a bumped shell design does not only enhanced shock resistance but also improved overall strength. Maintaining structural strength was imperative, achieved through ergonomic shapes and neutral materials. This approach was crucial due to the absence of high-tech materials like carbon fiber that interfere with the satellite waves. Moreover, the IP68 waterproofing without screws was an engineering marvel. An integrated system enabled the insertion of gorilla glass from the inside, post-assembly of the display and electronics.
