      MENTOR - Light Guides

Modern light guides are used for the transportation of light signals from a circuit-board-mounted LED via a particular route to a defined light-emitting surface, with minimal loss and blurring effect. They offer the electronics developer cost-effective, space-saving and easy-to-mount solutions with high ESD protection. The MENTOR range of high quality standard light guides for assembly on front panels or circuit boards includes several hundred articles, which can be supplied from stock with low minimum quantities and short delivery times. Thus it is undoubtedly among the largest product ranges of light guides in the world.

      MENTOR - Opto Electronic Components

Our range of LED-based opto electronic components is focused on active components in the field of visible light. These components are classic features in human-machine interfaces and are used wherever light signals are required to draw attention to functions or operating states. Reliable, durable and versatile, they are the result of decades of experience in the development and production of components for a wide range of applications in industrial electronics.

    3. Metal department

      Metal department

Vast expertise as the basis for total solutions This department is often deployed in a manner that integrates other Demival technical expertise such as PCB assembly and electrical fitting and installation. These three departments can function individually but more often than not they are grouped together and, in this way, sustainably unburden many production companies of a substantial part of the production process. This can start at purchasing and end the finished component or product. The combination of the three competencies enables Demival to collaborate on innovative projects. Co-engineering entails the development of prototypes and the gradual process of using vast expertise in making designs ready for production. One needs vast expertise to do metalwork. At Demival, there are over thirty years of experience and knowledge, which are put into practice by means of modern machinery. This combination guarantees that total concepts are brought to fruition, and these are often accompanied by rather complex metal and/or synthetic processing. The variety of assignments and projects implies that there is a vast range of specialisation fields at Demival, such as CNC machining, sheet-metal processing, deep drawing and punching, welding, etc. The industry and machine construction are provided with all types of semi-finished or finished products (hinges, brackets, encasing, etc.), so that everything can be fully finished in-house – perhaps in collaboration with the other two technical departments in Demival. The construction sector also relies on this department for certain components. The aim for all our projects is to make every effort to find a total solution of perfect quality and exactly the right delivery periods.

    4. Micro coil

      Micro coil

The production of micro coils is one of KUK's specialities. We have established a great deal of know-how in handling windings directly onto magnetic cores - with a wide variety of wires that are invisible to the naked eye. Thanks to integrated plant and tool construction, KUK Group has the capabilities to process ultra-fine wire from 10 µm and to produce micro coils with diameters from 0.3 mm. For miniature coils with magnetic cores, cores made of a wide variety of materials are possible, including mu-metal, ferrite or amorphous materials.

    5. Mockup Rocket Design

      Mockup Rocket Design

We combine sustainable materials, custom production methods, and full system integration in a practical and testable rocket design. Our Mockup Rocket Design shows a structured approach to building a rocket airframe from research to production. The project brings together different teams and systems into one design, including structure, propulsion, avionics, and recovery. A key innovation is the use of bio-based composite materials as an alternative to traditional carbon fiber. We test a partly bio-based polymer matrix with natural fibers such as flax. Different materials, weave patterns, and lay-ups are tested to find the best combination, despite a higher weight. We design and build our own production tools, including a flexible wet layup station and a fin alignment system made with a 3D printer. These tools enable controlled and repeatable production of parts like tubes, fins, and the nosecone. Our electrical and software teams develop the flight computer system. It collects, stores, and sends data, calculates the highest point using GPS, barometer, and accelerometer, and controls parachute deployment and payload release. The system includes LoRa communication, battery monitoring, health checks, and a ground station dashboard. A backup sensor board increases reliability. Reliability is improved through redundancy, including two flight computers, redundant sensors, and multiple data storage systems. Safety is considered during production, assembly, and flight preparation. The mockup rocket is used to test the full system before a real flight, including assembly, internal components, and the recovery system with dual parachutes.

    6. Modular diversity – Extended range of connector housings for the ODU-MAC®

Modular diversity – Extended range of connector housings for the ODU-MAC®

ODU’s flagship product, the ODU-MAC® with its well-established spindle locking, is now also available in sizes 2 to 4, all meeting tightness class IP65. The robust metal outdoor solution with its ergonomic quick-release fastener system thus opens up a new field of application. The ODU-MAC® can be used wherever the locking solution requires a high degree of tightness in a small space. This tight standard solution manages at least 30,000 locking cycles, after which the spindle screw can be easily replaced. As this just requires a single screw, the replacement process can be quickly done without dismantling the entire connector. ODU’s unique spindle locking offers a compact, ergonomic design for high precision. Compared to standard products on the market, locking and release are extremely easy and quick. Moreover, we’ve expanded our housing diversity with the addition of another locking option: efficient lever locking. This plastic housing is now in stock and available in sizes 1 to 4, tightness class IP65. A space-saving locking system for two-handed operation as well as 5,000 locking cycles rounds off our multi-faceted housing program – making manual mating as simple as it is secure. More information?
