Hummel M23 hybrid connector
Hummel recently completed its M23 range with a hybrid connector series offering a fully integrated solution for Industrial Ethernet applications. This extraordinary hybrid connector allows for the simultaneous transmission of power, signals and Ethernet and can easily reach a speed of 500 Mbits/s. This is achieved thanks to the possibility to connect individual shieldings separately thereby preventing cross talking. The M23 hybrid connector combines data transmission per CAT 5e standards with high power processing upto 28A and 630V. The Hummel M23 hybrid connector perfectly meets the growing need within the automation industry to simultaneously exchange data and communication between machinery and products. To save space and reduce storage & maintenance costs, more and more of our customers choose hybrid connectors for their application. We foresee that in the near future many of the industrial applications that are still using two or sometimes even three connectors for the same purpose will eventually all switch to an all-in-one hybrid solution. During the development of the new hybrid connector line, Hummel focussed on manufacturing quality. The line therefore meets the highest requirements on robustness and industrial suitability. It's vibration & water resistant with a guaranteed protection of IP67 / IP69K. Besides the standard materials, die cast and brass, the new connectors are also available in stainless steel (AISI 316L). In addition, the new hybrid connector also enables a quick and easy assembly and offers a great deal of flexiblity to choose any housing within the M23 range. This series is available with the classic screw connection or with the ingenious TWILOCK quick-release fastening system. As you can see, the Hummel M23 hybrid connector has it all and is flexible to meet your specific requirements.

ILME extends AXYR® inserts range with 35A and 40A versions
The new ILME AXYR® inserts offer an extremely compact spring push-in termination that equals high density crimp connectors but requires no special crimping tool and still grants an optimal electrical performance. Easy wiring by the actuator buttons and suitable for any wire. The spring clamp connection is also resistant to mechanical stress and vibration. The range already includes 10 A and 16 A compact, standard, and modular connector inserts, and has now been expanded with new variants for current ratings up to 40 A. In addition, there are three new MIXO modules with 2, 3, and 4 poles, increasing the modular configuration options. ILME also offers a 6-pole CPY 35 A insert, enabling fast and tool-free wiring for applications that place high demands on vibration and shock resistance. These additions make the AXYR® insert range even more complete. They offer robust performance and secure connections, while maintaining a compact design – ideal for systems and applications that require both high power and flexibility.

Improving heat dissipation with CoolMag™
Premo has achieved new advancements with CoolMag™ regarding heat dissipation techniques in combination with new techniques to produce iron powder magnetic core (FeSi6) to increase the impedance versus frequency and at the same time extend the saturation level of the core. Designed for OBC and/or DCDC converters where filtering at the output is mandatory and the increasing of power delivered cause heating in the power inductive components and other critical failures such as magnetic core saturation. Premo - CoolMag CoolMag™ is a thermally conductive compound able to fill any space between winding and core (and between core and heat-sink in case of use aluminum or magnesium dissipation). The thermal conductivity of CoolMag™ can be between 1.5 and 1.8 W/mK, which is enough to reduce the temperature gradient in more than 40ºC. CoolMag™ makes extending the operation temperature range possible, increasing the reliability of power inductive components as well as of OBC and/or DCDC converters.

Industrialized Raspberry Pi as Open Edge Connectivity Ecosystem
The device series netPI is based on an industrial suited customized Raspberry Pi 3 design made to run any custom applications of the Edge Automation. The model RTE 3 comes with Hilscher’s multiprotocol netX SoC additionally implementing all popular Industrial Ethernet networks. With their powerful Pi 3 1.2GHz quad-core ARM CPU the platforms are ready-made for any demanding Cloud, Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) application. The model netPI RTE 3 includes two Industrial Ethernet ports extra to connect to systems such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and others, as supported by netX. An expansion slot at the units bottom accepts extension modules made for sensor/actuator level communications such as RFID, digital I/Os, others or own custom boards. To meet EMC standards EN 55011 and IEC 61000, netPI is housed in a robust metal chassis and uses two additional PCB layers compared to a standard Pi 3.
