      Improving heat dissipation with CoolMag™

      Premo has achieved new advancements with CoolMag™ regarding heat dissipation techniques in combination with new techniques to produce iron powder magnetic core (FeSi6) to increase the impedance versus frequency and at the same time extend the saturation level of the core. Designed for OBC and/or DCDC converters where filtering at the output is mandatory and the increasing of power delivered cause heating in the power inductive components and other critical failures such as magnetic core saturation. Premo - CoolMag CoolMag™ is a thermally conductive compound able to fill any space between winding and core (and between core and heat-sink in case of use aluminum or magnesium dissipation). The thermal conductivity of CoolMag™ can be between 1.5 and 1.8 W/mK, which is enough to reduce the temperature gradient in more than 40ºC. CoolMag™ makes extending the operation temperature range possible, increasing the reliability of power inductive components as well as of OBC and/or DCDC converters.

      The industrial motherboard D3713-V/R mITX supports the AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V1000 and R1000 series processors with integrated AMD Radeon™ Vega Graphics and can be used in applications with high graphical requirements like casino gaming, medical displays, thin clients and industrial PCs. It is equipped with up to four DisplayPorts, one embedded DisplayPort and one Dual-Channel LVDS (24bit) and powers up to four independent displays in 4K resolution. Depending on how much (graphical) performance is required, there are 5 motherboard versions with different AMD processors available. The Kontron D3713-V/R mITX motherboard is "Designed by Fujitsu" and manufactured in Germany. This guarantees short delivery times, highest manufacturing quality, competent technical support directly from Augsburg, as well as long-term repair service. Kontron also offers a "kitting" service, where motherboards are assembled 'ex factory' with the requested processors, memory latches and even an individual BIOS.       Mitsubishi Electric to Launch Two New XB Series HVIGBT Modules

      Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced that it will launch new standard-isolation (6.0kVrms) and high-isolation (10.2kVrms) modules in its 4.5kV/1,200A XB Series of high-voltage insulated-gate bipolar transistors (HVIGBTs). These new high-capacity power semiconductors achieve high moisture resistance for more efficient and reliable inverters used in large industrial equipment, such as railcars, operating in diverse environments including outdoors. The new modules use IGBT elements that incorporate Mitsubishi Electric’s proprietary relaxed field of cathode (RFC) diode and carrier-stored trench-gate bipolar transistor (CSTBT) structure. New structures for electric field relaxation and surface charge control enabled Mitsubishi Electric to reduce the chip’s termination region size by about 30% while also achieving about 20 times greater moisture resistance than existing products. In addition, the module reduces total switching loss by approximately 5% compared to previous models, and reverse-recovery safe-operating area (RRSOA) tolerance is about 2.5 times greater than that of compared to previous models. As a result of improving the efficiency and reliability of inverters in large industrial equipment operating in environments where conditions can vary, such as outdoors, the modules will contribute to carbon neutrality.
