The organization tries to find the safest, sustainable and reliable solution for all challenges in its field. You can imagine that this can lead to complex projects, which means that extensive quotations are also required. This becomes even more complicated if there is a quotation with elements from several product groups, for which they were having separate and sometimes outdated configurators that weren’t universally applicable. And that was exactly what dormakaba ran into. Completing some configurators still required a lot of vendor knowledge, which lead to inconsistency and erroneous outputs. In addition, salespeople spent far too much time preparing those quotes. How can quotations be made faster, smarter, more user-friendly, error-free and consistent?

All different product groups were brought to Merkato. A quote for two revolving doors and 45 locks with a tag-based access control system? No problem! Everything goes into one quotation, with a consistent layout, one price and, of course, also in the correct language. With supporting information provided by Merkato, the work is made easier for sales staff and new vendors can be trained more quickly. In this way, every seller, with little or no experience, makes the same offer.

Paramount for dormakaba is that they can maintain the system themselves and build templates internally. In order to remain in control and to be able to provide quotations without any interruption, for every product group a product owner is trained in Merkato, responsible for the group’s products and templates, which can be used by all sellers in the combined quotes. This ensures correctness and continuity throughout the entire organization in the long term.
