PRAX – CUUC Transfor for Air Cooled Systems

The CUUC approach consists of making the transformer and inductor together in one component using a single core resulting in a compact solution.
The coupling factor is adjustable. This means that the magnetization inductance and leakage inductance easily can be adapted to the value needed for the resonant or DAB topologies.
By varying the distances of the central and lateral gaps, the coupling factor and magnetization inductance can be adjusted to achieve a desired leakage inductance. Coupling factors between 0,7 and 0,98 can be achieved.
Increased gap distance U cores = Lower Magnetization inductance
Less gap distance C cores = Lower coupling = Higher leakage
