In IoT applications, we often think of wireless protocols, from WiFi and Bluetooth to sub-GHz LoRa/Mioty and cellular. Equally important is how these wireless devices are powered. A few years ago, a battery, rechargeable or not, was often the only option. Nowadays, it is possible to build devices that no longer need batteries. In this presentation, we discuss the different types of energy storage and how you can capture energy from the environment to create battery-free IoT devices that never run out of power.
