Aaltra, opgericht in 2007, is een software agency gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling van maatwerk IoT (Internet of Things) oplossingen met sterke focus op intuïtieve gebruikerservaring of UX (User Experience), voor een optimale return on investment voor de klant. Waar veel software agencies zich richten op slechts één van deze domeinen, biedt Aaltra geïntegreerde oplossingen die gebruikers verbinden met slimme fysieke apparaten en systemen zoals sensoren, huishoudelijke apparaten en geconnecteerde infrastructuur. Aaltra vertrekt steeds vanuit een pragmatische aanpak met een positieve business case waarbij de IoT-toepassing geïntegreerd wordt in de bedrijfsstrategie van de klant.
Op deze manier wil Aaltra bedrijven ondersteunen bij het naar de markt brengen van digitale, gebruiksvriendelijke oplossingen die strategische inzichten opleveren. Tegelijk richt het zich ook tot bedrijven die hun eigen werking willen verbeteren of veranderen met slimme IoT oplossingen. Door de specifieke focus op design in combinatie met het laten samensmelten van IoT software en intuïtieve UX, biedt Aaltra haar klanten oplossingen die zowel technisch robuust als gebruiksvriendelijk zijn.
Aaltra streeft ernaar om het leven van mensen, of het nu consumenten of installateurs zijn, te verbeteren via slimme apparaten en applicaties. Het bedrijf wil haar opgebouwde expertise verder uitdiepen als nichespeler in IoT software en streeft ernaar om uit te groeien tot de toonaangevende technologiepartner voor IoT in Europa, met een door Aaltra ontwikkelde oplossing in elk Europees huishouden. Momenteel telt Aaltra, gevestigd in Melle, zo’n 30 medewerkers en bedient klanten zoals Daikin, Engie, Novy, Ontracx, Specter, Smappee…

Case Specter: The connected bike experience.
Specter is an ambitious Belgian startup creating the most advanced s-pedelec ever. Aaltra operates as their technological partner, giving Specter the necessary input for the perfect start. The bike quickly became a connected experience that seamlessly blends with our daily routines, thanks to our work. We never compromised on quality and features while laying the technical foundations for the future. The result: - Helped define the budget for funding - MVP in under 12 months
Case Atlas Copco: Transforming asset management through IoT.
We developed the mobile app for SMARTLINK, an IoT-powered mobile solution that gives users complete data-driven insights into their compressed air installation on the go. The project resulted in a fully functional application built from scratch in less than one year. This IIoT-powered solution delivered significant benefits to Atlas Copco and their customers.
Case Sumura: From startup vision to market reality.
Sumura, an Antwerp-based startup founded in 2023, approached us with a vision to revolutionize urban e-bike charging and security. As young families increasingly replace cars with e-bikes for daily transportation, the need for secure, convenient charging solutions was becoming urgent. Transforming an innovative concept into a market-ready product that could attract both investors and customers, while operating within typical startup constraints of limited resources and tight timelines. Case Daikin: The pocket-sized installer toolkit.
The work of installers involves several steps. Together with Daikin, we explored what digital tools we could develop to best support installers. Our solutions focus on three aspects of the customer journey: pre-sales, installation and after-sales.
