Description

ClickTouch develops revolutionary Two Touch Redundancy Technology for critical situations:

ClickTouch, the expert in the field of touchscreens and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), has developed a technology that creates redundancy for capacitive touchscreens. Through this, their touchscreens work more reliably in critical conditions.

Today, touchscreens with capacitive detection are the most common and the most commonly used form of touchscreen technology in industrial, medical and many other applications. However, these capacitive touchscreens have 1 important disadvantage: an unintentional activation of the touchscreen may occur because of minimal, unwanted pressure, heavy fluctuations in temperature or close proximity of a conductive object. And for certain critical situations, one will want to avoid the touchscreen generating unintentional actions.

Because of that, ClickTouch has developed a new technology that sees a second, resistive screen installed underneath the first, capacitive screen. A touch is registered on each screen separately and verified on both screens combined. In other words, a touch is only registered when it is certain, intentional and has to trigger an action.

This Two Touch Redundancy Technology is highly useful for various applications: medical procedures in which a drop of blood must not activate the screen or military and industrial situations in which a slight, unintentional touch can have grave consequences. But also in many other applications such as the transportation industry, safety equipment, the development of payment terminals and situations with greatly fluctuating temperatures, the Two Touch Redundancy Technology provides great benefits.
