In Europe, the Protech Group specializes in thermoset and thermoplastic powder coatings. Qualitative products and services to improve our customers’ projects and experiences are key. Various R&D teams are continuously improving existing products and developing new solutions. We have 14 manufacturing facilities and 23 distribution centers to meet and exceed the needs of our global customer base. At Advanced Manufacturing, we are promoting two significant product ranges: low-bakes (LB-SERIESTM) and primers (EF-SERIESTM).
The low-bake range “LB-SERIESTM” has grown exponentially over the last few years: more and more formulas have a low-bake variant. This range reduces the oven temperature and/or the curing time. In addition, these powders provide additional degassing properties and are, therefore, ideal for porous substrates.
In 2010 PE40 (AG-KOTETM / LB-SERIESTM) won the Surface Innovation Award. It is a prominent product in the low-bake range with degassing properties.
Recently, the EF26 DOD (dry-on-dry) primer was introduced where the topcoat is applied directly onto the primer powder layer and baked together. Not every application allows this, but it realizes energy savings and creates a gain in productivity.
The primer coating process can be an obstacle financially and technically. This is where the HD-KOTE (polyester) offers a solution: it realizes an increased corrosion resistance in a single-layer application that often already meets the set requirements.
